I have the Kodak zi6 with up to date firmware, and I just went on a trip and recorded about 4 and half gigs of video, on a 16 gig transcend sdhc card. When I put my sd card into computer and arc software pops up It only shows I have one video and when I have on camera it shows I have 43 videos. When i go to my computer and open up sd card I can only see the one video which is 8.8mb and then I got to sd card and right click and go to properties and says I have used 4 and half gigs, but I can only see that one video. So basically I can see all my videos when have sd card in zi6, but when put into comp It only recognizes one video.

Please help me I dont want to lose my vacation with family.

Instead of using arc-close that app and use View Pictures using windows-

set defaults under start>all programs>default programs>change auto play settings>view pictures using Windows

click Organize>folders and search options>View>Show Hidden folders and files

that doesn't help

they are .mov video files. windows doesnt play those, and the problem is it only reads one of the video files not the other 48 videos

Then use a program that will read/play them, or convert them to a format that vista can see.

Here is a Quicktime player for your .mov files:Apple - QuickTime - Download

Hi adeang,

Some card readers have problems with older cards.
Have you tried leaving the card in the switched on camera and connecting the camera to the PC by USB? It should show up just like any other drive which you click to open

I am a bit surprised about this, The card is not recognized by your card reader as it is to new (sorry got this the wrong way around just now) you need a card reader that is SDHC compatible. However with the card in the camera it should normally work as the PC sees the Camera as a drive and should then be able to read the card.

If you do a google for "SDHC Computer" you will find a lot of pages where others have similar problems, if you are lucky you may also find some answers.

I am sorry but I cant help you further,

Your computer is not Compataible with SDHC cards- Lets look at Using the camera as a reader with USB to Computer-

Issue Number 1: Possible Corruption
If the files did somehow become corrupted (inserting a SDHC card into a SD reader may have caused it), then the data is probably lost.

If your camera can read the data on the card without fail, This does not mean the card is not defective/corrupted- you do not have the hardware on your computer to read the data that is your problem, and using the Camera as a SDHC reader does not work (poss as a result of corruption of the data).

Your option is a data recovery specialist.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You state you have a 16 gig transcend SDHC card- Your computer does not have the Hardware/firmware needed to read such a card-due to a compatability issue. .

Only SDHC cards are able to have capacities larger than 4GB. A change in the format, however, while allowing capacities greater than 4 GB (SDHC), has created compatibility issues with older devices that cannot read the new format. The fact that SDHC format cards have the same physical shape and form factor as the older format has caused considerable confusion for consumers. SDHC cards require SDHC-capable device firmware generally not found with older devices

I suggest you take your card to a Kiosk in walmart, Walgreens, Picture/photo processing store, or to a Kinko copy store and use their SD/SDHC card readers to transfer your data to disk/thumbdrive, etc.

Consider a SDHC card reader-You might also consider dropping by Bestbuy and seeing if one of those SD/SDHC readers can retrieve the data for you. (I would try it on a floor model-before you think about a new reader. You may be able to take Thumbdrive/DL DVD's and transfer the data)
