IE8 final release today

You do not need to install any ISP crap esp BT.

You do it manually, you think they pack in all that junk for FREE ?

They get paid by the companies to put junk on your PC.
You contradict yourself, it is spying regardless of how you dress it up.

Quoted : it doesn't actually spy on anyone but relays statistical information back to Yahoo! if it does anything : End Quote

If you don't know how to set up Internet and Mail without a gay ISP CD I advise you get an "expert" to do so for you. ;)

I installed IE8 x64 in Vista x64 Ultimate. It broke Agent, my newsgroup viewer. the filters no longer retrieve. Browsing web pages is very slow. I am ready to backup my data and attempt to remove it.

I am fairly sure that British Telecom know what they are doing. I haven't contradicted myself either. As I have said, I hardly ever use Explorer, so it doesn't bother me. I don't even know what a 'gay ISP CD' is anyway.

I said you possibly do not know what your doing not British Telecom.

And I quoted you above contradicting yourself so don't backtrack now.

Sure BT know fine well n00bs will install the CD and get PC filled with total Junk, and get them paid for the pleasure of doing so.

Hi Guys, just installed IE8 on HP(32) ,no major dramas, had the sidebar problem for a couple of restarts but working OK now.

Main difference/problem is when i was putting on Football Bets(TAB betting site in Australia) the old Window is not refreshed,IE8 just keeps loading new windows/pages over old and i end up with a folder with 13 expired pages. I have never run into this problem with IE7 and have tried altering as many settings as i could but nothing works.Any Ideas???. TIA D.

My Computer

IE 8 uninstalled easily. Back to IE 7. Everything works now.

IE8 Sidebar issue can be fixed by this :

* Close Windows Sidebar. To do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon
in the Notification area and click Exit
* Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To do so, click Start,
click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and
then click Run as administrator.
* In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press ENTER:

regsvr32 msxml3.dll

Similarly, run these commands:

regsvr32 scrrun.dll

regsvr32 jscript.dll

If the registration was successful, you'll see the message
DllRegisterServer in <filename> succeeded for each command executed.
Open Windows Sidebar (sidebar.exe) and check if the problem is resolved.

Is IE8 that good? Im scared to try it lol I like IE7 atm...IE8 idk hard to explain I just dont like the look rofl...

It has the same feel of IE7 with a few more bells and whistles and it is faster so there is absolutely no reason I could find to not recommend it to you. The only visual difference you will notice is the "add to favorites" tab is gone but can be done from the "favorites" tab in the menu display. The favorties bar which I didn't like and probably the "look" you are talking about can be turned off easily and you have the IE7 look. I was comfortable with the way I accessed my favorites and didn't want that bar at the top so I deselcted it and I have what looks and feels like what I have been used to.

Same problems for me with IE8 (Ultimate x64) in that it keeps crashing not only my sidebar but other programs too e.g GRID, Crysis and Windows Explorer. Tried running the commands (as admin) but still crashing :( Uninstalled IE8 and all was well again. Reinstalled IE8 and sidebar and other programs start crashing again. All this after a full format and OS reinstall

IE8 is not right Microsoft!

Well, at least IE 8 is relatively reliable. I recently downloaded Safari 4 for Windows. It will freeze & crash at least 50% of the time in certain Yahoo! links. Everywhere else it seems fine though. It has frozen a couple of times in slow forums. No change there from Safari 3 then! I suppose by the time the bug fixes fix the problem it will have slowed it down to a crawl again. I'd rather have a slow browser that worked properly than a light-speed one that crashes or freezes occasionally!

It's not reliable for me, It crashes not just the sidebar but other programs too. Even it's own tabbed browsing has issues where IE7's was fine.
