Nothing realy, there's nothing else on the 7023. I'm using a logitech Media elite keyboard and a trackwheel, from logitech also, both USB. If I would edit to the registry, would my keyboard and mouse still work then?
I updated Vista to SP1 after having it installed.

Yes Dzomlija USB keyboard. I'll try the BIOS and command prompt.

I've rebooted my pc again in the meantime and event viewer came up with 5 more errors. Can I post them or have you had enough for today...

Did you get the latest Logitech software and install it. That could fix that issue. I don't like having users edit the registry unless they have done it. Too easy to break it.

Download the latest Logitech software. Clear the event viewer again and reboot.

Hey at once logitech does have a driver for my keyboard. I used to type in Media keyboard elite in their support page and nothing came... Ok I'm downloading them now and am rebooting after that. I also get the feeling that the BSOD's only pop up now when I leave my pc alone for a while... Is that possible or just coincidence?

Updating drivers usually helps with hardware errors. All we can do is tackle one event at a time and solve them.

Can you run a Trendmicro Free Scan for viruses and malware, grayware. See what it comes up with. Did you have Avast on before the problems started or installed it after.

Yes, it is possible. Sometimes it does take awhile for a BSOD to happen.

But, if I understand you correctly, the BSOD isn't happening so often anymore. So perhaps where're on the right track?

Yeah I've had a nuttcracker (is that a word in English?) on COD2 too, but that's sorted out now, maybe you could check the thread I posted, see if it helps you too?: http://www.vistax64.com/gaming/153262-uninstall-call-duty-5.html maybe the advice they gave me can help you as well.

So, I tried running that scanner, but it got stuck half way through, I'll run it again soon. No, avast was installed on my computer when vista was, so way back.

I tried to install the logitech driver 4 times, every time it gets a little further in percent. I tried to run it, to save it, but the furthest it will get is 72% so it hasn't worked just yet SCISraidGURU, but I'm working on it.

Yes, try uninstalling COD2, and then when you re-install it, change the destination folder to something like "C:\Games\Call of Duty 2". I do this with ALL my games, even the newer ones that have ben designed for Vista.

And to date, I've had 0 problems with any games, including the older ones like COD2, Empire Earth and my all-time favourite - Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction!

I have COD4 at home. I was considering installing it this weekend. Hold off. I will let you know how it goes. Still checking for bugs with it. My friend had issues with Vista and COD 4.

You can reinstall Avast.

Yes, continue clearing the event viewer and reboot.

You can go to google and look up the event IDs and errors. That is how I do it. You will learn how to troubleshoot errors this way.

This is a good reference for STOP Errors - Windows XP Stop messages.

It was originally written with Windows XP in mind, but the STOP errors are all the same, whether you've using Windows 2000, XP or Vista.

No, it's a lot better, he's not BSODing anymore, but I still get quite a lot of errors and I'm trying to get rid of those. I'll tell you when I've got them all.
