Vista SP2 is out

I have Vista Home Premium x64 SP1, just before downloading SP2 I ran Windows Update and installed the one update available, then downloaded SP2, turned off AVG, and installed SP2.

Any particular reason for turning AVG off?

It is a good practice to turn off any third party security softwares before carrying out windows update such as SP2 for a smooth installation.

Is it just me or SP2 reduces CPU usage? I have notices quite less CPU usage comparing to SP1, especially when using Safari 4 beta.

I've only just completed so haven't noticed any changes yet but everything seems to be working as before.

Cheers all, John:)

Yeah I have tried that, and it did'nt work, they just keep getting muddled up again in the wrong order I even took all of them off and turned off the side and rebooted and set them back up again on the side bar and when I logged off and logged on again they were all in the wrong order again.

This problem has me intriqued, I will try my best to come up with ideas, just let us know the final outcome.

How about deleting all of them, shut the computer off for a few minutes, reboot and put one gadget back. Do the shut down, reboot thing for each gadget, that should work. If that does not work, try right clicking on each gadget, detach from side bar, turn off computer, reboot and replace the gadgets.

Just had another idea, maybe a bit drastic for the problem. Use system restore to go back to a time prior to sp2, delete all the gadgets, then download sp2, then install gadgets. That actually should work.
