So you've moved away from the "processing power" arguement and moved on to $ per performance?

Well considering that in that link I posted, at 4870x2 outperforms a 4870x3 in a few games, 3 way Crossfire can't be that special.

It outperforms in some, but not by the considerable difference that's expected.

Well considering that in that link I posted, at 4870x2 outperforms a 4870x3 in a few games, 3 way Crossfire can't be that special.

Just like SLI, crossfire performance is dependent on the individual game. Some games simply don't scale well with dual cards. TRI and Quad scaling is even worse.

However, with a few exceptions, most games with a dual card setup will always outperform a single card. TRi and Quad are sometimes a different story. Sometimes the difference is huge, sometimes it's average and other times it's just piddle weak.

The majority of the time, outside of benchmarks, the performance increase of a TRi/Quad setup isn't really worth it.

Which is what I was saying, I meant in general, not just with ATI, that 3 way GPU setups aren't worth it atm as the performance increase isn't worth the price at all.

Wow, I'm not really that hardcore either way. The last two cards I've had have been nvidia. I like that their software isn't as much of a resource hog as the ATI stuff I had used in the past.

Other than that, The Nvidia stuff has just done well for me, and I have never had a single problem.
