I am in the same position as that individual needing Vista Business OEMAct and have the same number on my sticker though not sure thats relevant. I am also looking to use the OEM key on the machine it originally had used prior to being downgraded to XP (long story). All the same hardware just looking to get this old HP back into modern times! 32 bit. And I'd guess (because i'm not certain) that i'd want just whatever it came with/OEM version so probably not with SP2? my goal is to use original product key again so whichever one i could do that with ....pic attached of what i have (blurred key just in case)

Usually the key only dictates the system name as the SP's are regarded as Windows Updates, which saves a huge amount of time so you might want to at least try it, but I will send both by PM

Hello, well like many in here, I require a download link as well. I have to do a repair reinstall of an x64 Vista Home Premium SP2 installation that has the install files on a partition only which has no SP1 or SP2 installed. Plus the repair options on "restoring" the system is factory settings only. Thanks HP. The iso should be able to provide an upgrade for repair reinstall, and also have the repair option in the install now screen. There are not many alternatives out there in finding an effective iso. Hopefully someone here can direct me in where to go. Many thanks!!

I'm requiring, if one such exists, a copy of Vista Home Premium x64 SP1 for an attempt repair reinstall on a Gateway laptop from heck. I have the dreaded mythological SP3 version which does not allow any repair reinstalls of SP2. Vistaar suggested SP1 to try so at this point I'll try anything. Many thanks (again)

It will allow a repair if you use a Vista SP2 DVD (or USB stick), I'll PM you the ISO.
(There was no SP3 for Vista so that's an error).

Will a Vista w/SP2 ISO be OK? Or do you want that exact disk?
If so I would search using Google. Note that an HP Recovery Disk probably wouldn't work if you've installed service packs as bormal.
With my ISO you could do a repair install keeping all your files and folders

HP systems typically included a Factory Image partition, which I used for my one and only Vista reinstall. It is hard to overstate the value of a fully updated image for backup purposes going forward, in light of 2019 SHA-2 Code Signing Support requirement for Windows and WSUS.

I've experienced this with my cousin's HP Pavilion dv6648se entertainment notebook pc which came with Vista Home Premium 32bit a decade ago where I had to create a set of recovery DVDs while in Windows.

Good thing I did cuz the original hard drive (a Western Digital WD2500BEVS 250gb drive) malfunctioned several years ago in early 2013 [it generated SMART errors during bootup - the HP bios told me to replace the HDD] and I had to replace it with a bigger & newer one and restored the Vista OS using the recovery discs.

note to siarik: the HP system recovery DVDs I have may or may not work with your model since my cousin's HP dv6648se laptop uses Intel Core 2 CPUs; need to know the specs of your HP computer
