Mine is crappy right now b/c IE 8 B2 is not playing nicely with my system - and MySpace IM loads a small page with script errors and it generates a MySpaceIM has failed and will close- error but the IM actually keeps running and working....

I have never seen a score of 10 before.



Mainly DAZ3d did not like one of the settings I had for rendering and my x3 game crashed a few times after a script I added.

Not the fault of the OS but the user, oh that will be me then

Hello Roy.

You should have seen it before the re-install, when I was 'playing' with
Chrome and IE8 not to mention the "Vista Forums Beta Testing" I was part of,
then I installed an update from HP that darn near rendered it inoperable.
Every time I tried to open a website DEP would crash IE ... :huh:

Oh the joys of experimenting hehehe!

My apologies dmex, I never meant to imply they had anything to do with my crash;
I'm sure I was as much to blame as any of the apps.
I just meant that all taken together including the HP update "I" crashed my system!

You know how much I like to experiment ... :huh: though all is well in Bare Foot Kid land ...

Well so much for that run. I left the machine on when I went to bed last night;
to run a "Defender" scan then to defrag.
Evidentially the electricity went out during the night, I woke to everything off.

Well it was good while it lasted, at least this time I didn't cause it.

Hey Guys,

My last logged update entry in Reliability Monitor>System Stability Chart, was done on the 3rd September 2008, with no other log entries since then.

In the meantime, I've made some radical changes to my programs and browser, and upgraded to 4GB[3.2GB actual] RAM.

If there is somehow a way that I may have unintentionally deactivated the System Stability Chart, I need to know if there is some way whereby I can reactivate this very useful log record?

Incidentally, most of my Application Failures are of the 'IE7 has stopped working and has restarted'....variety. Since installation of FireFox3, I have not had even one such similar event.

Sorry, but I'm getting quite frustrated and confused by this Vista Reliability issue. Three times I've tried to kick-start the Reliability Monitor - System Stability Chart, and three times it has failed to re-set, or even activate for that matter.

The following are a numer of screenshots that I have done of where I have tried to locate the source of my problem. It would seem that #04 could be the culprit, but I have no idea about what I should do to resolve this obvious malfunction. I am not one to go diving into the Registry, and don't understand the requirements for 'elevated'**[see Edit] commands. Basically, I'm lost!

#01: September '08. Last month of Logged Activity.



#02: 04 Sep '08. Last Day of Logged Activity.



#03: Event Viewer. Error Message. How, and where do I go to 'fix' this state?



#04: Task Scheduler. Error Message. How do I 'repair' this corrupted 'file[?]'. Now I'm really lost and have no idea of what to do next.



If more information is needed, please don't hesitate to ask. I have no problems in doing sequential 'snips' if necessary. All I hope to achieve is to get this Log system up and running again, as it appears to be a very useful aid on the system health.
Besides, if it is still recoverable, then it can recommence earning its keep!

Everything runs fine on my computer, except that the 64-bit version of Half-Life 2 keeps freezing up on me. I have to run the 32-bit version if I want to play the game.

Yea the 64 bit version of HL2 can get a bit jerky for me. Not total freezing up, but just when playing it will freeze for a couple of seconds every so often.

There's really no point of playing the 64-bit version when it's so buggy while the 32-bit version plays perfectly.

Valve seems to have broken the 64-bit version of Half-Life 2 even more with the recent Steam updates.

Apparently you have corruption that only a reinstall may fix, as you probably do not have shadow copy restore points that go that far back.
