And I hate these errors I do not understand. The OS reported 0x10000050 (0xfffffffc, 0x00000001, 0x822099da, 0x00000000) at shutdown.

IE7 was a real mystery. I got this message that DEP closed Internet Explorer, for no evident reason, but it never closed. I was surfing this site and noticed nothing but the message. Then also found this in the event log: Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47918f11, faulting module SHELL32.dll, version 6.0.6001.18167, time stamp 0x4912ecfb, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000898d1, process id 0x144c, application start time 0x01c9b17ae410f0ab.
New to me, and I cannot find any explanation on the net. Just a punishment, I guess.
