BSOD Causing LOTS of Problems!

Came up with the same nvidia card, again.
Try to roll back to earlier card, if you have the most up to date

I'll give it a shot, but out of curiosity, is it possible that there is a virus at the root of this issue? I do still have other problems I'm dealing with, I'm assuming they're all related.

Nope, same deal, it's hung up on the "Shutting Down" screen, getting ready for the BSOD again.

When I tried to install the advisor, this is the message I got.

C:\Users\USer\AppData\Local\Temp\ubiW69Gp.exe.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

Try to roll back to an earlier version of the driver. If that does not work, update to current and try a memory test

Download memtest86 and test RAM
www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
Run for 8 passes
If passes try a good stick in each slot for 3 passes
If fails do the same for 8 passes.

Ok, I kinda figured that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure because of your last inquiry on ubiw69.exe.

It will not let me roll back any further, I'll try the RAM test and let you know how it flies, I don't have any extra RAM cards so we'll have to see how it does with the ones in place.

Test for 8 passes.
If it passes, take one stick and check each slot for 4 passes
If it fails take a known good stick and test for 8 passes.

Driver problems can often be caused by poor memory.

This is a sample of one of the many reports that show nvidia as the culprit.
In everyone of those cases code 9f was give

Interesting turn of events, after going into System Config and turning off some of the Start Up applications, I now no longer get the BSOD on reboot, it doesn't even hang on shut down anymore. So apparently one of the applications I turned off are the culprit, I just need to figure out which one and deal with it. I will re post this in my other forum as well.

After step one of the Clean Boot, I first got another BSOD stating PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and now when I reboot, I simply get a black screen with the mouse cursor after login. YIKES!

Safe Mode works, so that's something. What's next?

LOL How did you find out about the verifier, I told that other guy?

Driver Verifier Inst
Since the driver that crashed you has not been listed you should run driver verifier
Please run Verifier with these settings:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.
So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).
Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like. From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.
Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.
If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
