Keep going. Need to run that thing for 24 hours. The driver given as the problem was a lead Microsoft driver, thats not the answer.

Had my computer running all night, no problems (BSOD) over night. No Side Bar, which may have been turned off by during the Clean Boot, can't recall. Still having no luck downloading things like Windows Update, not sure if it's related or not. What would you suggest as the next step?

My advice is one thing at a time. Use the computer for awhile. Lets see what happens with the BSOD. If you dont get more BSOD, we can work with other problems. If you do get more BSODs then fixing that may fix the other problems.

I'm not getting the BSOD since resetting the System Config. It stopped when I turned off some of the processes yesterday, returned when I tried setting it for a Cold Boot, then stopped again when I deleted the settings, my guess is (and it is a guess), thet the problem must be hidden in one of the processes now turned off.

Follow the clean boot rules to find out which one. MY guess anti virus.

Right now, outside of Microsoft services, Norton 360 is the only one that IS checked. I'll do a clean boot now with the first half of the services checked and let you know how I fare.

Well, you're right, it's working. I'm using my wife's laptop right now (don't tell her) because my computer is still hanging on the Shutting Down screen pending an iminent BSOD. Once it finally crashes I'll get a dump for you and post it for your analysis.

Ok, here we go again. Now for the record, if the dump file incriminates Nvidia again, I checked and the Nvidia Display Driver Service is turned OFF.

It was step 2 of Clean Boot, I bypassed step 1. Should I start from scratch and go through the steps one at a time? I made the assumption that since the dump from yesterdays BSOD from clean boot indicated a lead Microsoft driver, as you indicated, then it wasn't the problem and I could safely move to the next step.

Yes it is important that every test be done slowly and carefully. If we accept a test as negative and it should be postitive. It will be a long long time before we find the problem.
Take time now and save time later.

Here's the result of the clean boot, just step one. Must be a lot of information in there, was running so long I thought your program had frozen. Let me know when you need me to run step 2.

Just to be clear, when you got this BSOD you were in clean boot with no services checked?
