Slow when shutting down

When it happens the next time, go to search type event viewer. In the left panel put cursor on adminstrative. Then look at the causes of ERRORS at the time of the problem, take note of causes by number.

Hi,

I've just formatted and reinstalled Vista Business, that I noticed a abnormal slow at starting up my laptop, but when shutting down the laptop is even more slow, for ie, when I shut down my account or when I move from my user account to my admin account ( I have a black screen during 4 sec). On the opposite, from my Admin to my User account, it can take up to 10 sec.

If I'm under my User Account and I shut down my laptop, it will take 2min 30sec more or less, and if I shut down from the welcome Accounts (not user account opens) it will take 2min. The time to close an account seems to be normal but on the contrary, the time to shut down the laptop is too long.

Programs at startup: No Autoruns, Rollback Rx, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (my graphic driver), Hitman Pro

Thanks for your help !

For a reinstall, you have had issues from the beginning of this. You must have the patience of the Biblical Job, as i would have already tried another reinstall in case something was wrong with this one just done. I wish you luck on solving this.

Are all the events, shown, pertinent to the Slow shut down. Try to shut down now and give me the event viewer for the time of the shut down.

Rich,

I don't have any troubles with shutdown as I told you, Tom helped to fix this issue. I'm asking a help for KSOD troubles.

I do aplogize. It was a long thread and I did lose sight of your problem.
The most informative article that I have ever read on KSOD was written by our own Corrine. She is a member of our security team. You may want to give this a try. If it does not work, the advice often given is to reinstall. This is one of the most puzzling and difficult problems encountered by our members

I am sorry to say that I have seen many posts on this problem, if it could not solved with a solution such as this it is suggested that the OP reinstall. We can help with that, too.
I am sorry for the small misunderstanding but do wish you a Happy New Year regardles of your computer situation.

Thanks Rich, but this is not what I have.

My windows logo screen is loaded as well the user interface. I mean that my boot is going slowly.

1. KSOD when booting (windows logon appeared in my case)
2. KSOD when logging into my account (before appearing the dekstop)
3. KSOD when closing my account
4. KSOD when I change into another account, ie, from user account to admin account (KSOD during more than 15sec)

Anyway I checked this (solution for one of your links) and all is correct, I have NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService:

Resolution Provided by Microsoft to change registry value of Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcSs
From Old Value: LocalSystem to New Value: NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService

Well at least you're not the only one who made a mistake, I've only just realised that it's a KSOD here, not a BSOD! I have to admit, I've never come across a KSOD before today, thanks for the link :)
