Blekko in stead if IE?

I did every step you suggested in my previous thread Rich and my computer is faster, and I feel like I have a bit of control over things now. I have created a restore point that is just after we [you] sorted out the IE/Blekko issue so I should be good to go. I have a rainy day ahead of me so I'm going to spend it going through all the tutorials on here. Its awful feeling totally helpless when I have a problem. but now, with the restore point I can play around and always put things back the way they were.

You are on the right road. To complete the journey, if you have an external hard drive, make an image of everything on your hard drive with the free Macrium Reflect. Then no matter what happens, we can fix it.

In addition, be careful of what you change. Ask us first if you have questions. Even with system restore, some things cannot be fixed easily.

You can get by with a very small one 75 GBs or so, that is even large, unless you have a lot of stuff. I think that for the small extra cost you should go for 100GB. With that you can make an image of your hard drive and update it every month. To reinstall, if you have a major problem, you just need to use the image. You can keep back ups of your pics and documents and everything else that is important, too. Once you get the external hard drive. I will help you with software known as Karens Replicator, it makes copying and updating your stuff easy or even automatic.
Macrium saved me once. Those Microsoft Updates destroyed my system, I had a Macrium Backup and was back in business in 15 minutes.
I think we are going to have many more nice conversations and I look forward to them.

EDIT: If you have a lot of pics to back up, a large External is essential. Pics take a lot of hard drive space.

Hey, why guess about the HD size. You can click on the computer icon on your desktop, then send us a screen shot of the drives that you see. We can determine just the right size for you.

Great job
If you get an External as big as your internal all you need is 500GB. The Craigs list is twice that size.

Geez Rich, I'm doing good!!!!! Up here on the West Coast of Canada a 500GB drive is around $99 brand new. This one is 1.5TB and its brand new sealed in the box, I'm going to go have a look. I'm picking it up from his home so its legit.

I will say that the price is good and it is a good Drive.

I would go with the Newegg, if you want one that large. Externals are notorious for having ocassional lemons. If you have a problem, even if new, Craigs will not be there for you.

Hi Rick, just went to look at the drive. Its in the box, sealed, including Seagate factory seal and wrap, I think I'm going to take a chance. Its about $150 up here in Canada. I went right to his house, he's a regular guy and said no problem if it doesn't perform, he will refund my money.

Thats your call, but note that it is on sale in Newegg, too. After you get it we will discuss how to make the back ups of your documents and the hard drive. We will use Karens Replicator for the back up of your doucments. You will be amazed at the great stuff that we can find on the net for free.
