Just had a thought.
When you pick a destination in Macrium, dont type it in. Use the browse function. It does not say browse. You will see a very small square box, just click on it. You will see a list of all the possible destinations.

I was typing as you were doing the same. After you are done verify the image. This will make sure that it is done correctly. You will see verify in the Macrium Software.

Rich, I think it's working!!!!!!!! Eurica. I'm writing this from yy IPad, hope you get it. It looks like its working, I typed F:/ as was listed and it's busily "Saving". I'm just going to sit back until it finishes. Anything I need to do after the saving is all done? Can't thank you enough Rich, you are giving me the confidence to have a go. I will be back.

After you are done we will verify that is it done correctly
and then
We will download Karens replicator to make a back up of your stuff. You will like Karens software.

Few hints, when you turn off the HD, make sure you do in correctly. You can make a shortcut on the desktop that you use before turning off.

You may want to have it turned off when not in use as if you do experience major computer problems, you do not want your back ups to be affected.

We are not done, download the Karens replicator and try to figure out how to back up your stuff. After that is done, set it to do it automaticlly, per a schedule.
Then you can shut off your HD, but be sure its on when Karens is going to back up your stuff, or you can back it up manually with Karens.
When you shut it off, use the short cut that I gave you a few posts ago.

First crisis....... I have with a keystroke deleted all my email files and folders. Anyway to retrieve them from my back up on the external drive? Tried myself but afraid to do more damage......
