User and Admin account big troubles !

I tried also to boot with my Recovery DVD and after, "Windows is loading files" (the blank lines is going to fill in) I have a black screen.

I tested this DVD on Vista and it works perfectly.

Maybe the culprit will be my drivers. I checked it but all is ok !

Do you have an idea ?

Hello again!

That is really great news with the BIOS! What did they do?

Anyway, most of these now come from a non-sticking registry. This is far more common on Windows Mobile than Windows Vista. Let us have a look why. It may thing that the registry has been corrupted, and has restored a version. I shall explain about automated registry backups soon, as it is far more complex than almost anybody realises, but let us check the Event Log for details:

Please download VEW by Vino Rosso http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe
and save it to your desktop
Double click it to start it Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right click the file and select Run as administrator and click Continue or Allow at the User Account Control Prompt.
Click the check boxes next to Application and System located under Select log to query on the upper left
Under Select type to list on the right click the boxes next to Error and Warning Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 also click the box next to Critical (not XP).
Under Number or date of events select Number of events and type 20 in the box next to 1 to 20 and click Run
Once it finishes it will display a log file in notepad
Please copy and paste its entire contents into your next reply

Thanks!

Richard

This is what I did to fix the Bios issue:

-Start my computer
-Once Vista started, entered into a Sleep Mode.
-Waiting for a few seconds, get out of Sleep Mode
-Entered this time into Hibernation Mode
-Waiting for a few seconds, get out of Hibernation Mode
-Shut down computer, puis swich on and enter into Bios.

That's all, and it works for me !

Yes, Niemiro :D:D

Anyway, you have a nice french souvenirs I suppose ;)

I found maybe the real key to unlock UAC... Not really, just I found that in Safe Mode, if I click on 'change your account type' or 'use UAC to help...' nothing happens, even if I can click a few times.

Looking at your event viewer, a few strange errors. Do you have this key:

S-1-5-21-3070288754-2817330209-3067176432-1000\Printers\Connections

Create it if you don't, and make sure that permissions are correct, please.

I don't think nusrmgr.cpl is a Vista file? I certainly don't have it on my system. Do you, Lorien?

Thanks!

No, I don't have it either and I did a full search of the C:\ drive - but I do think it may be a Microsoft file and even a Vista file (optional).

I found the following: nusrmgr.cpl is a NUSRMGR\r belonging to Système d`exploitation Microsoft® Windows®\r from Microsoft Corporation\r.

The following article talks about adding control panel applets, and one is nusrmgr.cpl for getting to User Accounts: Add Or Remove Control Panel Applets in Windows 7 & Vista. I did not try to do this myself. I also don't know why it isn't already there if I do have a User Accounts applet in Control Panel (and I do) - but the applet works in Control panel in any event (but I can't get there through Search).

Unless it has some totally different purpose or meaning (as with the French description above), I don't see how this file can have anything to do with UAC working except as a means to access User Accounts where UAC can be turned on or off for specfic accounts.

Let me add that there was a lot on nusmgr.cpl vs. nusrmgr.cpl and after reading about 10 articles, even I wasn't sure what the difference was or if there was a difference - but they seem to be for the same purpose and I'm quite confused by it. I didn't have it on my system spelled that way either and I checked my XP computer and couldn't find either spelling there either. I should point out that I had to exclude most articles because they applied to XP and not Vista - and I wonder if it is primarily an XP file (though some articles indicated it applied to Vista).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I don't think nusrmgr.cpl is a Vista file? I certainly don't have it on my system. Do you, Lorien?

Looking at your event viewer, a few strange errors. Do you have this key:

S-1-5-21-3070288754-2817330209-3067176432-1000\Printers\Connections

Create it if you don't, and make sure that permissions are correct, please.

Hi Niemiro,

Yes, you're right: nusrmgr.cpl is not in the system32 folder. I checked with a friend under Vista 32 bits platform. I made a mistake, sorry.

I have this key :

the same with HKU... I stopped because it's so long. I need to know where do I have to copy your key in the registry.

I had already enabled this one: Usermode NDIS I / O Protocol

Server is enable now.

I get an error 1068 with NetBT trying to enable.

PS: I never been installed a printer on my laptop. ;)

I come back with the Vista Recovery CD that works fine in my friend's laptop under Vista too.

I tried to boot up with this Vista Recovery, this time with an old external CD Writer but I always have the black screen at the end, after loading these files.

It seems that the culprit is not the DVD/CD drive. I remind you that this CD can't be launch with the graphic in a Vista user account. It loads files but I can't see the windows 'Installation Vista'.

When I boot up with F8, I've always the black screen at the end and it doesn't launch graphic. I suppose it's something to do with the system files loading at boot up.

I tried to launch with Ultimateboot CD at boot up, and it works fine !!!

Why ? What's up with my laptop ?

Lorien,

I came back to your idea to create a new admin account, it's done !

You told me to transfer all setting from my first admin account Fleur de Vie to the new one, Old Admin.

I have 2 admin accounts: Secours and Old Admin. It seems that Fleur de Vie is a user account with elevated admin rights.

From one of my admin accounts, I noticed that what I have under Users, Fleur de Vie was really the Secours account settings. This is one trouble.

The second thing is that Secours named account doesn't appear in the Users folder.

To summarize: Fleur de Vie settings accounts (dekstop, my documents, ...) don't really appear. It's only the name Fleur de Vie, but in fact, the settings corresponds to Secours account.

What I did, in order to solve this issue (that doesn't work in fact ;) ):

I run lusrmgr.msc and I renamed the Secours into Fleur de vie and Fleur de Vie into Secours.
I check the users folder and I noticed that now under Fleur de Vie settings correspond to my old Secours account, so it's ok as I've just renamed Secours into Fleur de vie.
But, Secours (which was Fleur de Vie) doesn't appear at all under Users folder so that I can't transfer the settings from my corrupt account which is now Secours to my new one, Old Admin.

Hope we can fix this issue ... It seems that my black screen is less active for now, less seconds than before since I uninstalled a few programs (and reinstalled as soon) and create this new admin account, Old Admin.

I can trust you Lorien when you said that delete my old Fleur de vie account renamed into Secours account, UAC issue and black screen will be fixed, but first, we need to transfer the settings to my Old Admin account, I've just created.

I don't have Secours (= old Fleur de Vie, admin) under C\Users\.

I noticed that the profile settings under C:\Users\Windows correspond to Secours profiles, the same dekstop and documents.

Is it possible to fix this account ?

Windows account is it belong to Vista system or is it a real user or admin account ?

If I delete Secours, all the profile's 'Windows' will be deleted. If I copy all the Windows profile to my new admin account, "Old Admin", I will have 2 identical profiles.

I need help to clarify all these accounts.

You will in the attached files, Userprofiles reg file

Secours don't appear in the Userprofiles in the Registry
